In the circle of my heart and the darkness behind my closed eyes (“chidakash”)
Lies a world without words—only strokes of myriad colors.
Each hue ignited by emotion, each shadow dulled by pain
I carry some light within to show you it’s pulse today
The Joy of Art
I started painting in 2017 at a junction of life where all roads seemed too long, winding and tiring. 8 years hence, every new canvas feels like an opportunity to start afresh.
With this collection, I invite you into my world of love, joy, despair, play, melancholy, and ecstasy.
Through this art, we’ll walk through time and sometimes stand still, we’ll smell nostalgia and reminisce those who are gone, we’ll immerse ourselves in the joy of a melody or turn a page.
I hope you’ll take a moment and allow your emotions to meet mine.
My Journey
My journey with art started with a push to myself to pick up a brush following suit after my niece, Ridhima who led the way into this beautiful world for me. Oil and watercolours continue to be my favourite medium for painting. I paint solely for the joy of expression and experience the magic of a touch of colour to the mind. Anaahat was my second exhibition, after Transience in 2023.

Can you tell her story just by looking into her eyes? Do her words flow to you as her gaze pierces through you?
The gaze of a woman is all you need to know how she’s feeling – love, anger, sadness, passion, empathy, wonder, excitement – different shades flowing out of the same pair of eyes.
She came alive with me and through me, stroke by stroke, not knowing how she would shape up from my mind into the form you see today.

On a recent holiday to Paris, we went through aisles and rooms full of the greatest art the world has ever witnessed. The towering presence of the Winged Victory of Samothrace commanding attention sans head and arms was astounding.
I've attempted to capture the finesse of drapery and feathers made out of marble and added my own texture with wood.

Bringing the joy of my instrument on canvas is surreal. My piano classes take me to a field of emotions buried deep inside. A touch of a key can resonate with the deepest sorrows and uncontainable joy. Playing through tears or laughter makes the music reverberate on my skin and brings all senses alive. Take a moment to find some of my favourite pieces and the beauty of their notes.

My love for perspective made me stop in my tracks while strolling through streets of Lisbon. The beautiful arches just come alive with watercolours, in yellow ochre that marked the city sights for me. Drawing every brick and it’s wear and tear felt therapeutic. My love for art and math came together as I measured every pillar one by one while my eyes played tricks on me when it came to sizing them up.

My love for definition has long made me paint what I could see but I reached a point where colours were everywhere and she was submerged, camouflaged and not ready to be seen unless you wanted to find her. Look closer, you’ll see elements that look familiar, bring some nostalgia and bring texture from the most mundane objects of human life. All to be seen if only you look hard enough.
